Hcéres accredits four Vietnamese universities

Published on

After carrying out institutional evaluations in February 2017, Hcéres has accredited, for five years without conditions – in accordance with the criteria adopted by its Board – four major Vietnamese engineering and technology universities: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, National University of Civil Engineering, Danang University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.

On 17 October 2017, Hcéres presented them with their accreditation certificates at an official ceremony in Hanoi in the presence of the Deputy Minister for Education and Training.

Since 1999, these four historical and renowned institutions have benefited from the Excellence Training Programme for Engineers in Vietnam, with the support of a consortium of French institutions, which enables them to deliver degrees accredited by the Commission for Engineering Qualifications (CTI)

Although their study programmes are gradually being accredited overseas, these are the first Vietnamese universities to obtain institutional accreditation.

In the competitive environment of higher education in Vietnam, and south-east Asia in general, as well as in the context of the law concerning the autonomy of universities introduced in 2013, this accreditation helps the institutions to stand out from others and supports their ambitious development strategy.

In this respect, Hcéres congratulates the four institutions and is very pleased to have taken part in this pilot operation, which benefited from the commitment of two high-level panels of experts.
