Evaluation of study programmes

Evaluation campaign 2019-2020 (group A)

The external evaluation of study programmes in Group A differentiates between:

  • study programmes leading to national bachelor’s, vocational bachelor’s and master’s degrees, including university undergraduate and postgraduate health programmes in medicine, pharmacy, odontology and midwifery leading to the awarding of bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
  • Master’s degrees for members of the teaching, education and training professions (Métiers de l'enseignement, de l'éducation et de la formation - MEEF) at Teaching, Education and Training Colleges (Ecoles supérieures du professorat, de l’éducation et de la formation (ÉSPÉ).
  • other study programmes leading to bachelor’s and master’s degrees (art schools).

The institutions concerned shall provide a list of their accredited study programmes divided into “fields of study” by 22 February 2019 and return it to Email.

Important note: The study programmes offered by certain schools (especially schools of architecture and/or landscape design) are not listed here because they are subject to a coordinated evaluation process involving an evaluation of the school and an evaluation of its study programmes. The documentation associated with this evaluation can be found in the “Evaluation of Institutions” section.

The scope of the external evaluation of study programmes mainly concerns academic disciplines in which national bachelor’s, vocational bachelor’s and master’s degrees are awarded, in addition to certain programmes leading to graduates being awarded bachelor's or master’s degrees.
This particularly concerns general and advanced programmes in medical science, odontology, pharmaceutical sciences and midwifery, State diplomas in midwifery and audioprosthetics, and certificates of competency (certificats de capacité) for speech therapists and orthoptists.
The evaluation is carried out in two phases:

  1. a phase in which the study provision is evaluated, divided into “fields of study” and based on the self-evaluation carried out by the institution
  2. a phase in which the institution’s accreditation plan is evaluated.

Reference documents to be consulted:

Documents to be submitted on the PELICAN exchange platform:

  • One evaluation file for each field of study (by 21/09/2019).
  • One evaluation file for each study programme (by 21/09/2019).
  • A single accreditation file for the institution (between March and June 2020, according to a precise schedule to be defined at a later date).

This evaluation concerns the four MEEF Master’s degrees offered by Teaching, Education and Training Colleges (ÉSPÉ). A self-evaluation file is required for each of these master’s degree programmes (if they are offered), in addition to one document per ÉSPÉ on the management of these master’s degree programmes. These documents concern all ÉSPÉ stakeholders and are submitted by the institution to which the ÉSPÉ belongs.

Reference documents to be consulted:

Documents to be submitted on the PELICAN exchange platform:

  • One evaluation file for each MEEF master’s degree programme (by 21/09/2019).
  • One file on the management of MEEF master’s degree programmes for each ESPE (by 21/09/2019).

This evaluation concerns study programmes leading to the awarding of bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees by institutions supervised by the French Ministry of Culture. This does not concern schools of architecture, which are subject to a different evaluation process.

Reference documents to be consulted:

Documents to be submitted on the PELICAN exchange platform:

  • One evaluation file for each degree programme (by 21/09/2019).
  • To coincide with the submission of their files via the PELICAN platform, the institution shall select examples of the students’ output that are representative of their work (in duplicate, maximum of 3 different works per study programme; these works will not be returned to the schools and, apart from 3 copies, the works will not be handed out to the experts). They should be sent to the following address: Hcéres, Département des Formations, 2 rue Albert Einstein – 75013 Paris
