Science and technology observatory

Hcéres produces analyses, synthesisreports and indicators in order to contribute to higher education, research and innovation stakeholders’ strategic thinking, as well as to the design and evaluation of public policies. Indicators and specific analyses are produced by the Science and Technology Observatory (OST) and the departments in charge of the evaluation process.

Analyses and studies

The analyses and studies produced by Hcéres inform the strategic processes of stakeholders in the French higher education, research and innovation system. They also contribute to the evaluation of public policies.

Indicators and methods

OST produces indicators on research and innovation. It adapts its methods to take into account the evolution  of international standards in scientometrics.

Sources and data

OST maintains databases (publications, patents, R&D projects) that can be used to perform national and international comparisons. The Observatory can combine a number of different sources to conduct itsanalyses.
