International

Hcéres is the French public service agency responsible for periodically evaluating all the country's higher education and research establishments under contract with the State, their programmes (bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees) and their research entities. It also evaluates research bodies and groups of institutions. Working within a European framework, Hcéres is recognised by ENQA and is listed in the EQAR register of quality agencies.

The Europe and International Department ensures Hcéres is positioned as a leading French player engaged on the international scene. It actively participates in European debates and projects relating to quality assurance in higher education through international networks (ENQA, ECA, INQAAHE, etc.), thereby contributing to the establishment and spread of best practices. Thanks to its ability to draw on the experience of Hcéres and its access to renowned academic experts, the Europe and International Department offers a range of services to any foreign higher education and research institution on request.

The High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (Hcéres) undertakes to ensure that the collection and processing of your data, carried out via the hceres.fr website, conforms to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés). In accordance with this regulation, a data protection officer has been appointed.

Department of research evaluation (DER)

This department organises the evaluation of research units. It produces site summaries of their research activities. Finally, it appraises the eligibility of applications for the validation of procedures for the evaluation of research units by a body other than Hcéres: as provided by the Law of July 2013, this type of application may be submitted by the supervising ministries of the units in question.
