Hcéres receives a delegation of Irish and Romanian agencies

In the framework of a staff mobility programme of member agencies of the European Higher Education Area offered by the Bologna Follow-up Group (BFUG), the Department of European and International Affairs hosted its Irish and Romanian counterpart agencies from 6 to 9 February 2023 in order to share practices in the field of research evaluation, in particular in the framework of integrated evaluation, in accordance with the ESG (standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European higher education area).

French Advisory Board for Research Integrity (Hcéres): four new members appointed

At the proposal of the French Advisory Board for Research Integrity (CoFIS), Thierry Coulhon, President of Hcéres, has appointed four new members to this body: O. Descamps, E. Didier, S. Noorda and M. Rahier. They have been appointed as part of a partial reappointment of the CoFIS, which was presented on 1st March to the Hcéres Board.

On Monday 1st March, the Hcéres board approved Thierry Coulhon's proposal to reappoint Pierre Glaudes as the head of the Department of Research Evaluation and to appoint four new heads: Abdelaziz Mouline (Evaluation of Higher Education Institutions), Bernard Larrouturou (Evaluation of Research Institutions), Lynne Franjié (Academic Programme Evaluation) and Stéphanie Ruphy (French Office of Scientific Integrity).

Hcéres has published its third report on France’s scientific position in Europe and the world. Covering the period from 2005-2018, it updates the previous observations and adds analysis of a number of different facets: the breakdown by panel of applications to the European Research Council (ERC), a comparison of publications by French Initiatives of Excellence (IDEX) with those from European and American research universities, and the scientific profiles of French regions.

Evaluations calendar: campaigns postponed by one year from group C onwards

In the particular context of a continuing health crisis and the need to adapt evaluation visits, Hcéres, the DGESIP and DGRI have come to a common agreement to postpone all the evaluations for Group C by one year. This decision has a de facto impact on the current contracts of the institutions, on upcoming accreditations of their ranges of study programmes, and on the subsequent evaluation campaigns.
